Hello I’m Ben the owner, co-founder and Principal dentist here at SK Eight Dental & Cosmetic Centre. I was born in Wales, the son of a dentist, and lived there until I was nine; we then lived in Florida until I was 12, moving back to Oxford. I was educated at Wellington college in Berkshire. I qualified as a dentist from Kings College London in 2002 and achieved the coveted Claudius Ash award for Endodontic excellence. My first dental position was in Mansfield, subsequently moving to Norwich as an associate dentist, where I was also involved in the training of newly qualified dentists as part of the DFT training program.

 

I worked in various Cheshire practices for a few years before deciding to set up a brand new custom built state of the art dental surgery in the heart of Cheadle Hulme. I undertake most aspects of dentistry, but am passionate about using modern technology to improve the patient experience, and outcomes from dentistry. To this end we have an intra-oral scanner, and 3D printers. These allow us to produce in house orthodontic aligners, retainers, temporary crowns, gum shields, and bite guards. It also allows us to have in surgery real time planning of your new smile with you sat in the chair.

Outside of work, I am married to Angela, and have two children Aneurin (7) and Beatrice (5) who take up most of our spare time. I enjoy skiing and am regularly found in the Austrian alps covered in snow with a big smile on my face. I am also an avid fan of the Welsh rugby team, and last year, travelled to Japan to watch them play.
